In Character

The figure is where observation starts turning into character. A shift in posture can suggest attitude, clothing can hint at a history, and a face can begin telling a story before anything is said. These works move between anatomy, gesture, illustration, character design, and sculpture as I explore the point where a body stops being simply a figure and begins to feel like someone.
